Longarm Quilting Services
Based in Sylvania, OH
My aim as your longarm quilter is to assist you in reaching your end goal - a beautifully completed quilt. I will work with you to carefully select a quilting design that matches your quilt top. My personal style leans toward modern-looking, often geometric, and abstract quilting designs. However, I have many classic designs as well. I will work with you to find the design that highlights the features of your quilt that you want to shine. Together we will make choices that will give your top a lovely texture to compliment your patchwork.
Edge-to-Edge Longarm Quilting
I provide digital edge-to-edge designs. This means that the quilting will be uniform across the quilt top and not area-specific.
The rate for basic edge-to-edge quilting is $0.025 per square inch with a minimum charge of $50. Example: If you give me a quilt top that is 60X80 inches, the charge would be 60X80 (4,800) X .025 = $120. However, if you give me a quilt top that is 40X40 inches, the charge would be 40X40 (1600) X .025 = $40 that would be charged the minimum of $50.
Semi-Custom Longarm Quilting
I also provide semi-custom digital quilting. This means that I can provide you with boarder to boarder digital quilting, and then place a different, complimentary design within your borders. I can also provide block by block digital quilting that will allow you to have different designs in each block of your quilt.
The rate for semi-custom quilting is $0.035 per square inch with a minimum charge of $75. Example: If you give me a quilt top that is 60X80 inches, the charge would be 60X80 (4,800) X .035 = $168. However, if you give me a quilt top that is 40X40 inches, the charge would be 40X40 (1600) X .035 = $56 that would be charged the minimum of $75.
Start by selecting a design
Take a look at the pantographs that I have available here.
For additional options, search any of the websites below. If you find a pantograph that I don’t own, I’m happy to split the cost with you to buy it for your project. Search the terms “pantograph” or “edge-to-edge” (E2E) to find the right type of designs. As long as they have a .pat file available I will be able to use it.
Not sure where to start?
If you are unsure about making choices, I would love to help. When you book your quilt with me, you have the option to have me pick the design entirely, and/or pick the thread choice.
Batting
Batting is a separate charge and NOT included in the per square inch price.
If you wish to supply your own batting, I accept batting from Quilters Dream, The Warm Company, and Hobbs. All supplied batting must be a minimum of 4 inches larger on each side. (Example: If your quilt is 60” X 80”, then your batting needs to be at least 68” X 88” - larger is always appreciated).
If you need to purchase batting, I stock these products from Quilters Dream - Quilters Dream 100% Cotton, Quilters Dream 80/20 Cotton/Poly, and Quilters Dream Poly. If you need a special batting, I can special order from the entire Quilters Dream line of products.
I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (shortest side + the 8” margin) and charge per inch. (Example: If you have a 60” X 80” quilt top, and wanted to use Quilters Dream Cotton, the charge would be 68 X 0.57 = 38.76)
Prices for batting:
Quilters Dream - 100% Cotton Select (White) = $0.57 per square inch
Quilters Dream - 80/20 Cotton/Poly Select (Natural) = $0.42 per square inch
Quilters Dream - Poly Select (White) = $0.34 per square inch
Note: All batting sales will be charged Ohio sales tax at a 7.75% rate. This tax will only be applied to the batting purchase portion of the job.
Shipping
I live near Toledo, Ohio (USA), and if you aren’t local, I would be happy to receive your quilt top and backing by mail. I recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of plastic bag or plastic envelope to protect against possible moisture in transit, and then place that inside a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.
For return shipping, I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above using USPS Priority mail. I will use a flat rate box when possible/economical. Priority mail comes with an automatic $50 of insurance, as well as a tracking number. Please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to purchase additional insurance on your behalf. It is a good idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, however, it isn’t required.
Other Costs
As mentioned above in the batting section, batting is not included in the square inch price. If you purchase batting from me, I am required by the State of Ohio to collect a 7.75% sales tax on the goods portion of an invoice. The quilting services, shipping, and design/pantograph fees are not subject to sales tax.
Payment
After work is completed, you will receive an invoice through email. I greatly appreciate timely payments as that enables me to mail your project(s) back to you as soon as possible.
